ABC Sing With Me

         About the Author:

Marilyn Pattison, author, is a retired teacher.  She taught for thirty years in elementary schools in the Shawnee Mission School District.

While teaching Kindergarten she wrote this book to help her students learn their letters and sounds to a song.  As a Reading Specialist, Marilyn used this book with small groups of primary students and English Language Learners. 

Marilyn currently volunteers at Faxon School in Kansas City, Mo.and with Operation Breakthrough.

She is married to Dave and has  three adult children.

Family Project   

Marilyn's late father, Max I. Miller MD, played the organ music for the CD that is included with the book.

Alexa Smith sang the song on the CD when she was five years old. 

The individual letter sounds are sung on the CD, too. 

      About the Illustrator:

Cari Pattison, Marilyn's daughter, is the illustrator for ABC Sing With Me.   She earned her B.A. in English, Art, and Education from Kalamazoo College, and her Masters of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary.  She is the Head Pastor at Woodstock Reformed Church in Woodstock, New York.  She carefully designed the illustrations with bright colors and simplicity, the kind she was drawn to as a child.
